Im 19. Jahrhundert wurde das Ostragehege industriell erschlossen und besetzt. Im Zuge des andauernden Strukturwandels ist diese Inbesitznahme inzwischen obsolet geworden. Der weithin sichtbare Teil des 1906-1910 durch Hans Erlwein erbauten Städtischen Vieh- und Schlachthofes, der eh. Kessel- und Maschinenhaus mit Schornsteinturm, dessen charakteristische Kuppelform an die Form des Florentiner Doms erinnert, wurde dreidimensional nachgebildet und somit paraphrasiert. Durch die Projektion einer Nachzeichnung des in den 1830er Jahren entstandenen Gemäldes „Großes Ostragehege“ von Caspar David Friedrich wird das romantische Landschaftsporträt mit den Architekturformen visuell verknüpft. Es entsteht eine Synthese aus beiden Elementen als Schattenbild. Indem das Naturbild sichtbar wird, re­ferenziert es sowohl die Vergangenheit (unbebautes Gelände) wie auch auf die Gegenwart bzw. Zukunft (Post-Industrialisierung). Teil der Installation war der Soundscapemix, produziert von Raalrohm (Paul Raal & Matthias Rohm), welcher das Thema Funktionalität als Charakteristik der Industrieanlage, sowie die eher impressionistische Idee der Umgebung verarbeitete.

In 19th century the Ostragehege a landscape which is part of the city of dresden was developed through industrialization. This occupation has become obsolete by structural change within the last years. 1906-1910 the municipial abattoir was built by the architect Hans Erlwein. The former power house with the characteristic shape of the dome which refers to nothing less than Florence Cathedral was reconstructed three-dimensonally and paraphrased for the installation. A painting by the romanticist Caspar David Friedrich shows the area around 1830 that was used for the black and white projection of a drawing after the landscape which was part of the installation as well as the soundscapemix produced by the viennese duo raalrohm (paul raal & matthias rohm) that reflected on the topic of functionalism which is the character of the factory as well as the impressionistic idea of an environment. The idea was to interweave different ideas of time. The intact nature as „before“, the architecture as part of industrialization, which in the meantime has lost its former function, the question on the future of post-industrialization.
